Acro Kids is a family business created and lead by husband and wife team Damian and Katherine.<\/p>\n
Damian\u2019s background is in primary teaching and sports science along with experience as a Gymnastics leader at Camp USA, Camp Australia and YMCA gyms. For many years Damian also had a successful personal and corporate training business.<\/p>\n
Katherine\u2019s career prior to Acro Kids was in marketing working in several different companies in promotions, advertising and marketing communications roles. She was also a childbirth educator and doula.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ background_layout=”dark” custom_padding=”||0px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n \u201cAfter moving to the Mornington Peninsula with 3 young children we found there were very few sporting programs that were non-competitive or that were designed specifically to build confidence and resilience. We originally started our children\u2019s fitness programs incorporating ball sports, running, gymnastics fundamentals, dance and yoga. After a while it became obvious to us that gymnastics fundamentals was the most successful developmental part of our program, and very popular with the children. We trialled some acrobatics school holiday programs which were very successful and led to the development of our term programs as children wanted to come back and learn more on a weekly basis. Over time our programs have developed and evolved to now include programs for 1 year olds and up, recognising the importance of developing motor skills, flexibility and coordination from an early age.
